Chorioangloma of the Placenta Report of a Case

Abstract

|
A 27 year old Korean woman had hydramnion and delivered a premature still born macerated 34-week male fetus: The placenta weighed. 1,015 gin with a tumor mass, weighing 460gm. The tumor mass was well circumscribed and situated between amnion and chorion at one margin on the fetal aspect of the placenta. The specimen was submitted to Dr. D.H. Lee; Professor, College of Medicine, Pusan National University, who gave following pathological findings.
The specimen was ovoid in shape, reddish purple in color and rubbery in consistency. On bisection blood was sqeezed from the cut surface which was spleen like and uniform in; appearance (Fig. 1, 2). The microscopic finding -was-the pictures of .numerous delicate vas-cular channels, cavernous `spaces ´and well formed : blood :.vessels; some. of. which containing erythrocytes,. set in a matrix of connective, tissue; in. which´ immature: blood cells were noted (Fig.3,.4) The pathological diagnosis was´ chorioangioma of the placenta.
